The Masks We Wear - a circle for revealing your SELF

(Remember to check the cart in the right uphand corner to check out!)

Remember those awful plastic Halloween masks from the ’70s and ’80s?

The ones held on by a single piece of elastic that inevitably broke? With the tiny mouth hole you absolutely could not stop sticking your tongue through, even though the sharp plastic edges kept cutting you?

They were hot. They were sweaty. You could barely see. They never quite stayed where they were supposed to.

And they were MAGIC.

Because for a little while, you got to be someone else: Superman. The Hulk. Wonder Woman. A witch. A clown.

For a little while, you got to step outside yourself and become someone different. Maybe even someone more than you usually got to be.

Turns out, we never really stopped doing that.

We all wear masks.

Some help us fit in. Some help us feel brave. Some protect the tender parts of us. Some make it possible to walk into a room or have a conversation or do a scary thing when we’re not quite sure we can.

And that doesn’t make masks bad.

Sometimes a mask is armor.

Sometimes it’s protection.

Sometimes it lets us try on a version of ourselves we haven’t quite grown into yet.

And sometimes?

The damn thing doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to anymore.

So, what do you do with the masks you wear?

That’s what we’re going to explore in October’s Paused & Playful Circle.

Not with the assumption that every mask needs to come off.

Instead, we’ll get curious.

Is there a mask you’ve been wearing that you’re ready to remove—revealing a part of your SELF that’s ready to be seen?

Or is there a mask you want to consciously put on—one that helps you embody the courage, confidence, playfulness, power, or whatever-the-hell-else you need for what comes next?

Because when you know which masks you wear and why you wear them, you get to make choices about them.

And choice is where things get interesting.

During our time together

We’ll use reflection, journaling, and a little bit of creativity to explore the masks we wear and the ways they protect, reveal, and sometimes constrain us.

You’ll have an opportunity to decide what you need right now:

What are you ready to reveal?

Or who might you need to become for a little while?

And, because this is Circle, you’ll have the opportunity to be witnessed in that choice.

You don’t need to be “creative” to participate. There’ll be some words, some intention, a little coloring, and plenty of room to make the practice your own.

This isn’t a Circle for people who feel perfectly comfortable showing up exactly the same way everywhere they go.

It’s for those of us who are curious about the different versions of ourselves we bring into the world.

It’s for anyone interested in understanding the ways we protect ourselves—and learning to work with those protections more mindfully.

And it’s especially for anyone standing at the edge of something new, wondering which parts of themselves they’re ready to reveal… and which ones they might need to try on.

A bit about Paused & Playful Circles

Back in January of 2025, Spirit challenged me to hold 13 online circles… juuuust to see how it would go, It said. Mm-hmmm…

The deal was, I didn’t have to do anything else for my business, but if I did – it was icing on the cake.

The point of the circles was to prove they’d be meaningful - to the participants as well as myself, that the technology could support the kind of intimacy and connection I hoped to give my people, and to grow my capacity as a space holder extraordinaire!

14 circles in and I’m pleased to report that all of these things are true and more!

I’ve landed with “Paused & Playful Circles,” not just because the best attended circles were the ones with an element of whimsy (like the Blanket Fort of your Heart circle) but because I believe that what this moment calls for isn’t anything heavy-handed or demanding.

This moment calls for joy and a light touch.

But don’t be fooled by the name – these circles offer self-awareness and growth, and the community you need integrate them.

And yes! There is a recording if you can’t make it live!

You’ll also receive a weekly nurture email to expand and deepen your circle experience. Just a nice, little way to stay in touch and let you know I’m here for you even beyond the night of.

Hello & Welcome

My name is Deborah Globus, and I am a space holder extraordinaire! I create communities and spaces for curious, kind-hearted souls… just like you. Inside those spaces you’ll find a sense of safety and the support you need to grow and flourish.
